Home Gym Must Haves
Build your perfect home gym with all the must-haves! No more excuses for not exercising - make it easy for yourself with all the essentials for the best at-home workout! I LOVE having my home full home gym. It makes me so happy that I do not need to go anywhere to work out. I can spend time in my own space, do my thing and not worry about if there is equipment available and how I need to modify if what I need isn’t available when I go to gym.
Though having a full gym to get a good workout is unnecessary, it is my favorite and incredible for working toward my goals. I will list everything I have in my home gym below and note what I would get if I didn’t have space for a full gym.
Treadmill - I love this one because it is automatic incline and multi-speed. This one works well for what we need in our home gym. But when we upgrade, I want one with a few more features.
Squat Rack with Pully - I love to have a pully/cable machine and a squat rack for my workouts.
Dumbells with rack - Dumbells and storage are a must!
Dumbells single - but you can buy dumbells individually and slowly work up to heavier weights as you go. This could be something you get if you’re limited in space.
Weight plates - these are a must if you have a squat rack and barbell. These also attach to the pully machine to change out the weights.
Dumbell and plate rack - This is the rack that I have to store my dumbells and weight plates
Bench - A bench is versatile for many exercises.
Barbell and Easy Curl Bar
Short resistance bands and Long resistance bands - these are a great addition to any home gym of any size. You can do a variety of exercises with resistance bands. When I teach my group classes, I use bands for almost everything!
I love having my home gym, but if I had to pick a few pieces I don’t have a lot of space for, I would choose short and long resistance bands, several lightweight dumbells, and a foldable bench.
